Changes in Business Vs Accounting
Business and accounting tools have been separated in the software making it easier for you to find out what you need.
Most of the everyday usage tasks are grouped under the Business menu. Here you will find some daily use tools such as: Invoices and quotes, bills and purchase orders, expense claims, and products and services.
The Accounting menu has advisory and compliance tools that are more commonly used by partners of the firm which includes: Bank accounts, reports and advance accounting tools. In default settings, you will find these options as favorites: Chart of accounts, find and recode manual journals and fixed assets. However, you can set your own favorites by going to the Advanced Accounting settings.
- In Payroll, the Pay run option has been changed to ‘Pay employees’.
- Payroll Settings can be now accessed through the Organization menu.
- The notifications icon has been changed.
- Xero Education option can be availed from the User menu.
- The profile settings can be accessed from the User menu by selecting the initials or profile picture located in the top right hand corner.
The search shortcut for Xero has been improved. To go to a particular section in the software, press the forward slash key to open the search box and type the letter of the task which you want to do.
